Cousin Rodney told me this story: He and his new friend Diane were walking around the city lake one evening last week when they happened upon a man in the process of catching a rather large catfish. Rod walked over to the man and commented about the nice catch. The man proceded to tell of the great catch the day before with that fish weighing in at 45 pounds. Rod became impressed and told the man that he was an advanced scout from the Jimmy Houston Fishing Show and that they were hearing reports of the large catfish that were being cought at the city lake. The man procede to show Rodney the line set-up and just exactly how to fish the rig. He also mentioned that there was an underwater creek in the area and it was very necessary to fish the edge of it. Rodney acted as if was very impressed and after continuous referrale to the Jimmy Houston Fishing Show, Rodney told the man he was going to shoot a demo tape. He told the man to wait at the honey spot while he went to get the camera and film and since it was starting to get dark, he needed his lights. Rodney and Diane drove back to the lake about 2am which was 5 hours later, and that man was still waiting for his chance at fame on the Jimmy Houston Fishing Show.

Ouch! Work injury. I tried to remove the tip of my finger on a folding chair, but the E.R. doc saved the day by stitching the injury together . He first scrubbed it down with betadine and then saline, he then decided to deaden the finger with lidocane shot into the big knuckle. That hurt. After a few minutes he started stitching and then shot more lidocane because it still wasn't dead yet. Soon he finished up and they put this big bandage on the finger. As you can see, it wasn't complete because it kept sliding up the finger. So like a skilled maintenance person that I am, I added the DUCT-TAPE. now it is complete.

I Enjoyed the Digeridoo played on Anamnesis blog and that reminded me of something I saw a long time ago. The sitcom Frasier referenced these singers in one of their great episodes. I am refering to the TUVAN THROAT SINGERS of Mongolia. Check out the other videos near the one I referenced. They are strange and yet amazing at the same time. Like the digeridoo, it is a localized skill that is slowly being brought to the world.

Enjoy

"Popcorn, get your free popcorn here." Yep, Puppy and I were working at the Childrens Health Fest sponsored by the hospital. Although the day started out misting rain, it finally cleared around noon. We had a great time and over 400 kids were treated to fun, games, prizes and free screenings. I think we could have had over a thousand if not for the wet weather for 4 previous days. One of the games for the little ones was Stickhorse racing. I watched these three 2 yearolds line up for a race. The lady shouted "GO" and 2 of the kids took off around the course. The 3rd kid just stood there and was saying to her horse, "GO, GO!" She couldnt get her Stickhorse to GO. I died laughing along with everyone else watching the races. Puppy is a pretty good popcorn popper for never having the experience. There was a lot of Popcorn on the ground for the birds to clean up, I dont think they minded. We both noticed that the next day, we were unable to walk very good. Sunday was a great day to just kick back and rest. Anyone want some Popcorn?
