I just heard from an old shipmate of mine from 1965 and we were the best of friends for a couple of years. That kind of email brings back floods of memories and most are valid because we tend to remember the good times and not the bad times and we tend to remember things as we want them to be rather that the way they were. The guy in the picture is a 19 year old, still wet behind the ears young sailor off the coast of VietNam on board the USS Princeton LPH-5. We were a helicopter carrier with about 1000 marines set up for fast response combat. Those long ago years seem like they were yesterday. My friend and I are planning to get together in 2010 at the next Princeton reunion in Branson Mo. I bet there will be a lot of old timers there. Gee, I wonder what us young kids will talk about?
Life is interesting and life is great. We just have to keep bending with the wind. GM 08

Just
pondering
a few things. The weather is sure hot, were hitting 105 daily. The yard is cracking and drying up, no need to mow. Washed my truck yesterday, dirty again today. The AC runs constantly, gonna be a big bill next month. Forgot to get water reading, I'll do it tomorrow, maybe. Need to do more maintenance stuff around the house, there's always tomorrow. Don't feel like dancing myself. Grammy not doing well, really concerned. Bill Doc really sick, in my prayers. Nobody swimming in pool, didn't mean to jerk any shorts, sorry if I did. Bird eggs hatched, momma bird busy feeding 2 growing babies. A baby rabbit came to back door, he sure can run fast. Went to garage sales Saturday, didn't buy anything. Price of gasoline is down to $3.57/gal, too hot to go anywhere. Cub may be getting spectacles before school. Tomorrow is another work day, gotta get up at 6am. Wonder where ractoon is right now, I sure did enjoy his blogging during the trip. Still don't have the urge to dance. TTFN
